The Nowthen Heritage Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23rd, in Nowthen Memorial Park, near the corner of Nowthen and Viking boulevards. Learn more at nowthenheritagefestival.com.
The Nowthen Heritage Festival celebrates community, family and friends. The day starts with a gourmet pancake breakfast followed by activities through the day in the entire park: live music, children’s activities, petting zoo and inflatables as well as dozens of local handmade arts and crafts booths. A favorite part of the festival is the very competitive contests for the largest pumpkin, tallest sunflower and most creative scarecrow, all of which will be on display along “Scarecrow Lane” in the park. Rumor has it that one of the local farmers actually sleeps out in the field to protect his pumpkins at night.
Texas Roadhouse and The Haug Companies/Cub will cater the dinner again under the big tent and our evening ends with a grand fireworks extravaganza.
The Festival is a wonderful way to showcase our city’s history and talents. Almost all our vendors are from Nowthen so it’s a great way to shop local too. Most the Nowwthen Businesses, churches and civic organizations have contributed to make this day a very special event for Nowthen and the surrounding communities.
